Aquatic Plant Management Society Meeting 2016

Dr. Barnes and graduate student Sasha Soto recently attended the Aquatic Plant Management Society 56th Annual Meeting in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The meeting provided an excellent opportunity to interact with other academics interested in prediction, prevention, and management of aquatic plant invasions, as well as managers and practitioners in the aquatic plant management industry. Dr. Barnes presented on some of the latest results out of the lab in a talk titled “Combining multiple species distribution modeling approaches to predict suitable habitat for the invasive aquatic macrophyte Hydrilla verticillata.” Soto presented her research as a poster entitled “Incorporation of biotype alters species distribution model predictions of suitable habitat for the invasive aquatic macrophyte Hydrilla verticillata.” For her efforts, Soto won 1st Place in the Student Poster Competition- Congratulations Sasha!
